 Roberta Perry is President of Roberta Perry and Associates, a business development strategy company for the Leisure Entertainment Industry. Her career highlights include serving as Vice-President of Themed Entertainment for 20th Century Fox; VP Sales and Marketing for Iwerks Entertainment; as President of the Themed Entertainment Association and the National Nightclub and Bar Association. She joined Toastmasters in 1974 in Seattle, Washington; served as District Governor of District 1 in 1988-89. She has received the Roy D. Graham Lifetime Achievement Award; the International President Citation of Achievement in 2001; and has won the District 1 International Speech contest.  Presentation Synopsis:
Toastmasters International is making some exciting changes in its educational system and award designations. As of January 2006, a new leadership program was introduced and all the educational awards were renamed in order to distinguish between the specific speech and leadership programs. The new leadership program awards are now a new Competent Leader, Advanced Leader Bronze (the old Competent Leader), and Advanced Leader Silver (the old Advanced Leader). In this presentation we will look the new Competent Leader program by reviewing the new 10-project manual, how this program will assist each member in developing their leadership skills wile serving in various club-meeting functions, and how this new program fits into the new Toastmasters International recognition program.
Biography:
David Wilkerson joined Toastmasters International in 1994 and has earned the highest educational and leadership level of Distinguish Toastmaster. He served as the 2002-2003 District 12 District Governor and continues to serve in various Club officer and District-wide committee roles. He also mentors District members in their communication and leadership skills on an on-going basis, thus serving the members and the Clubs in following the Mission of Toastmasters International.
Professionally, he has nearly eight years directing an archival and records retention program and over 25 years as a professional lecturer and speaker. In 1998, he became the Senior Archivist for a government contractor at the Defense Visual Information Center located at March Air Reserve Base, California. This agency is the official Department of Defense current still and motion imagery repository that is utilized by governmental, commercial, and private entities on a regular basis. Since 1982, several colleges and universities have employed him as an adjunct college instructor lecturing about American and California history and the U.S. Constitution. He also now works for Weight Watchers as a leader motivating members in achieving their weight-loss and weight-maintenance goals. Finally, he regularly speaks to public service groups, private businesses, and professional organizations on various motivational, humorous, and historical subjects.

 Ann Hastings retired in the year 2000 after 40 years experience working in Corporate America. Her last position as the Law Department Administrator in a Fortune 500 company included the preparation of a $10 M budget, purchasing equipment, Human Resources Administrator, and managing a staff of 65 employees.
Presently Ann is an instructor for UCLA Extension working with young professionals getting through the fear of public speaking. She also sits on the Board of the HRD Management Company, a real estate enterprise with properties in California, Arizona and Texas.
Ann joined Toastmasters in January, 1991. She has served in club officer positions and as a district leader. She was awarded Area and Division Governor of the Year Awards, Excellence in Marketing, Education and Training, served as District 1 Governor earning Distinguished status in 2002-2003.
Last year Ann campaigned for International Director from Region II. She was elected to that office at the Toastmasters International Convention’s Business meeting August 26, 2005 to serve a two year term.
Ann has lived in West Los Angeles and Santa Monica for most of her life. She attended Marymount High School, the University of Southern California, Sawyers Business School and has a real estate license. She is a widow and has one adult son, Bradford.

 Terry L. Mayfield failed in sales for two years, then shot to the top, eliminating competition. He was a straight-commission salesperson for over 22 years. Repeat customers were essential to survival, which called for a focus on relationships, customer service and partnerships. For 12 years he was also a training manager and VP of Sales where he developed the Selling Through Service and Create the Perfect Customer programs.
Terry presents custom keynotes, workshops and seminars using real-life examples with extensive research in the fields of sales, customer service and personal performance. Rich with specific how-to’s, Terry’s programs are results-oriented and highly motivational.
He is the author of The Customer Connection and How to Control Your Destiny and several audio programs.
