Dues Increase

Hello Club Leaders!

I know that your Division and Area Governors have let you know about the dues increase but I wanted to take this opportunity to share with you this advice from Alanda Dyer, LGM for Founders, regarding the dues increase, which was sent to me by IPDG Lois Sicking, DTM, and to thank you for all the hard work you are doing to make your club the best it can be this year.

Now the letter from Alanda:

"I hope your Area Governor has had a chance to talk to you about the new dues increase, and that all club dues payments should be submitted before October 1, 2005.

In my own club, some people forgot that the renewal fee is now $27, so I would like all of you to keep reminding everyone they need to write their check for $27 or give the Treasurer that amount in cash. Don’t forget to give the people that pay by cash a receipt. I’ve attached a link to the FAQ sheet from Toastmasters International (TI) that answers some questions on the dues increase. It’s at: https://www.toastmasters.org/fupload/media/DuesIncreaseFAQ.pdf

One question in particular, ‘what happens if we send in the wrong amount?’ is addressed. The answer in a nutshell is that TI will bill you for the difference, and you will have to go back and ask your members for the balance and you think some of them are complaining now! More importantly, your club will be recorded as not paying your dues on time!

Toastmasters International is encouraging that all payments are done on-line. Two benefits are:

     1. You know right away that TI has received your payments.
     2.  It’s the second easiest way to meet your requirement for the DCP.

In case you don’t know your passwords to use the on-line feature, here is the link:
https://ecommerce.toastmasters.org/Timssnet/login/tnt_login.cfm  and follow the prompts. Or, you can simply call the Member Services Department at (949) 858-8255 between 8 am and 5 pm weekdays and ask for help.

Also, addressed in the FAQ is a question on renewals and new member applications. Please don’t send them in together! If you don’t have the new application form, I’ve attached it to this email for you to use beginning October 1.

If you have any questions, please, don’t hesitate to contact me. Even at $27 dollars every six-months, this is a great investment for the life changing benefits you receive!
