1995 to 1999

During the sixth year of operation (1994-1995), there were 79 Clubs in 13 Areas and four Divisions. The following officers led the District: Gregory Scott, DTM, District Governor; Bill Cortus, DTM, Lt. Governor Education and Training; and Judith Bailey, DTM, Lt. Governor Marketing. District achieved Presidentıs Distinguished District status for the first time. The winner of the Region II Humorous Speech Contest was the District 12 contestant Wendy Alderson-Soda, ATM, Club 1969; and the International Speech contestant at Region was Connie Jameson, ATM, Club 815. Toastmaster of the Year was Kay Starr, DTM, PDG. Division Governor of the Year was Richard Snyder, DTM; Area Governor of the Year was Dr. Nick Ninos, ATM-B. Area Governor speakoff winner was Lowell Bamford, ATM, speaking on the International President's theme "Make a Change for the Better."Division Governor speakoff winner was Bill Laird, CTM, Division C, speaking on the District Governor's theme "Growth Through Leadership, Yours to Discover."

During the seventh year of operation (1995-1996), there were 74 Clubs in 13 Areas and four Divisions. The following officers led the District: Bill Cortus, DTM, District Governor; Lt. Governor of Education was Judith Bailey, DTM, from July to October (resigned), and Paul Clark, DTM, from November through June; and Lt. Governor of Marketing was Paul Clark, DTM, from July through October (advanced), and Richard Danzey, DTM, from November through June. District achieved Presidents Distinguished District Status. The Humorous Speech Contest contestant at Region was George Mitchell, DTM, and the International Speech Contest contestant was Wanda Scruggs, ATM. Wanda won the Region 2 Contest and competed at the International Contest. Toastmaster of the Year was Richard Snyder, DTM. A new award commemorating Marilyn Mitchell, DTM, is given to the District 12 Toastmaster who has accumulated the most educational achievements based on the Toastmasters Distinguished Club Plan. The first recipient of the Marilyn Mitchell award was Richard Snyder, DTM. Area Governor of the Year was Lynn McCune, ATM. Division Governor of the Year was Mary Murshedi, DTM. Area Governor Speakoff Winner was Dave Harrill, ATM, speaking on the International Presidentıs Theme "Toastmasters: Share the Vision of Excellence." Division Governor Speakoff winner was Mary Murshedi, ATM, Division A Governor, speaking on the District Governor's Theme "Achieve to Succeed." A "Top Five" Club (#2) in the 30-39 member category was Club 7213, Master Motivators of Claremont; Club 7213 was also the top District 12 Club.

During the eighth year of operation (1996-1997), there were 84 Clubs in 16 Areas and four Divisions. The following officers led the District: Paul Clark, DTM, District Governor; Lt. Governor of Education was Rick Danzey, DTM; and Lt. Governor of Marketing was Michael Bayne, DTM. District achieved Select Distinguished District Status. The Humorous Speech Contest contestant at Region was Michael Bergler, ATM, and the International Speech Contest contestant was V J Sleight, ATM. Toastmaster of the Year was Greg Scott, DTM, PDG. Marilyn Mitchell award recipient was Deepak Ubhayakar, DTM. Area Governor of the Year was Kay Mellen, ATM. Division Governor of the Year was Deepak Ubhayakar, DTM. Area Governor Speakoff Winner was Dave Harrill, ATM, speaking on the International Presidentıs Theme "Toastmasters: A Passion for Eloquence." Division Governor Speakoff winner was Mary Murshedi, ATM, Division A Governor, speaking on the District Governor's Theme "Team Power! Everyone Reaching the Top." "Top Five" Clubs were Club 7213, Master Motivators of Claremont(#1) in the 30-39 member category and Club 5963, Phonic Fury of Riverside (#3) in the 20-29 member category. Club 7213 was the top District 12 Club.

During the ninth year of operation (1997-1998), there were 86 Clubs in 16 Areas and four Divisions. The following officers led the District: Rick Danzey, DTM, District Governor; Lt. Governor of Education was Michael Bayne, DTM; and Lt. Governor of Marketing was Mary Murshedi, DTM. District did not achieve Distinguished District Status. The Humorous Speech Contest contestant at Region was Barbara Christofferson, DTM, and the International Speech Contest contestant was Paul Pritikin, ATM. Toastmaster of the Year was Darrell Zeller, DTM. Area Governor of the Year was Janet Laiblin, ATM-S. Marilyn Mitchell award recipient was Scott McGookin, DTM. Division Governor of the Year was John Marshall, ATM. Area Governor Speakoff Winner was Roy Nichols, ATM, speaking on the International President's Theme "Toastmasters: The Thrill of Success." Division Governor Speakoff winner was Jim Merrylees, ATM-S, Division A Governor, speaking on the District Governorıs Theme Soar Like Eagles. "Top Five" Club was Club 7213, Master Motivators of Claremont(#1) in the 30-39 member category and Club 7213 was the top District 12 Club.

During the tenth year of operation (1998-1999), there were 91 Clubs in 18 Areas and four Divisions. The following officers led the District: Michael Bayne, DTM, District Governor; Mary Murshedi, DTM, Lt. Governor Education and Training; and Richard Snyder, DTM, Lt. Governor Marketing. The Humorous Speech Contest contestant at Region was Michael Martin, and the International Speech Contest contestant was Les Hawthorne, CTM. Toastmaster of the Year was Paul Clark, DTM, PDG. Marilyn Mitchell award was given to Chuck Weck, DTM. Area Governor of the Year was Dr. Julie Stokes, ATM-G. Division Governor of the Year was Dr. Bettye Underhill, DTM, PDG. Area Governor Speakoff winner was Roy Nichols, ATM-S, speaking on the International President's them "Focus on Your Dream". Division Governor Speakoff winner was Darrell Zeller, DTM, speaking on the District Governor's theme "Toastmaster: The Experience". "Top Five" Club was Club 7213, Master Motivators of Claremont (#3) in the 30-39 member category and Club 7213 was the top District 12 Club.
