  If you are like most people you joined Toastmasters to improve your ability to communicate.  If you are like me, you later learned about the incredible opportunity participation in the Toastmasters program offers to improve our leadership skills.  Membership in a Toastmasters club offers both these things along with good fun and fellowship.  The Toastmasters Vision also mentions finding the courage to change.

As District 12 Membership Chair for 2002-2003, I was pleased to conduct a lively 15-minute brainstorming session on membership building. While the dozen membership building ideas shared are not new, they have all been proven to be effective means of building membership.

With a grateful assist from the area and division governors for their feedback and suggestions, here are one dozen membership building ideas listed in order of submission along with my own comments.
