Tentative Guidelines for Speaker's Bureau

Purpose:

To provide a venue for advanced Toastmasters to further hone their skills for audiences outside the Toastmaster club environment.

To offer educational, motivational, inspirational, and entertaining speakers to service clubs and others at no fee.

To support membership building in Toastmasters District 12 by publicizing the Toastmasters educational program, exemplifying the skills and benefits of Toastmasters in the community.

Speaker Qualifications:

To become a qualified Speaker's Bureau (SB) presenter within the District 12 Speaker's Bureau, the following qualifications must be met:

A minimum of six months recent, continuous, active membership in a Toastmasters club.

The prospective SB presenter must attend at least three Speaker's Bureau meetings in order to understand meeting format and expectations of the Qualifying Speech.

The prospective SB presenter should submit their speech title and an appropriate introduction at least two weeks prior to the meeting at which they will present their Qualifying Speech.

Prospective SB presenters must present a 15 to 20 minute speech to the Speaker's Bureau.

Qualified SB presenters will give oral evaluations of prospective Qualifying Speeches.

SB presenters will be required to give a synopsis of their speeches with a list of days and times available to speak.

If not qualified, the speaker may schedule for another presentation.
