CONGRATULATIONS to District 12 for achieving DISTINGUISHED status for the 5th cosecutive year.  Therefore it was time to celebrate!!!!!  What better place to do it than at the Officer Installation and Recognition Banquet.  Officers for the new 2008-2009 term were installed, and the Officers and Staff for the last term (2007-2008) were recognized for their achievements, and received the accolades they so heartily deserve.  This event was held on June 28, 2008 at Benedict's Castle (same as last year), Teen Challenge, 5445 Chicago Ave. Riverside.

DISTRICT OFFICERS ELECTED
The District Council met on Saturday, April 26 to elect the District Officers for the 2008 - 2009 term.  The results are as follows:  Michael Owen,  Division A Governor; Arlene Blas,  Division B Governor; Angie Neale, Division C Governor; Ed Lopatin, Division D Governor; Sandy Amelino, Division E Governor; Laurie Holk, Lt. Governor Marketing; Jack Nelson,  Lt. Gov. Education and Training; Tom Jameson, District Governor.  Congratulations on your election, and best wishes for a very successful term.


SPRING DISTRICT CONFERENCE

APRIL 26, 2008

Another successful District 12 Spring Conference was held at Cal Baptist University in Riverside.  The day was jam packed with activities during the day including Table Topics and International Speech Contests, Educational Features, Networking with other Toastmasters, and the Business Meeting to elect next term's District Officers and to vote on next year's Division alignment as we add new Division E.  The Friday night session featured  Milo Shapiro,  Motivational Speaker,  "You Gotta Fail .... Toastmasters International has recently updated its website.  They now have provided information for non-members and for Toastmaster Members.  Most of your activity will be performed on the right side of the Members page where you will find Need Help, News, and Galleries.  Help is provided for the following topics:  Club Business, Running a Club. Giving a Speech, Leadership, Membership Building, and Performance Reports.  Take  look at the Member Page soon?  You will gain  more knowledge about the Toastmaster program,  how to be a better presenter, and how you and your club are progressing.
